Wedding Photojournalist:

A wedding photographer that is a quiet observer, documenting the wedding day from the sidelines with a hands-off approach. Having the ability to capture the special moments as they spontaneously occur, with no posing or prompting. The photographs are documentary images of the day, telling the complete story as it unfolds.

One of the leaders in bringing modern "Wedding Photojournalism" to New England, Mr. Martell has just recently left the position of staff photographer at the Boston Herald, which he held for the past 16 years, to dedicate his talent to one of the most important days in a couples life, their wedding.

While at the Herald and other Boston area newspapers, he had the pleasure of covering news assignments both locally as well as around the world for the past 23 years. He has been involved in documenting every President's administration since Ronald Reagan. His coverage of the Nations recent tragedy on September 11th in New York won him a first place award with the prestigious Boston Press Photographers Association. He is a past president of the Boston Press Photographers' Association, "the oldest press photographers association in the country," made up of over 300 newspaper and television photographers in New England. He is a member of the Boston Press Photographers Association, National Press Photographers Association, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, Professional Photographers Association of Massachusetts and the Wedding Photojournalists Association (WPJA).

Over the past 23 years, he has developed a sensitive eye, enabling him to win numerous awards and recognition as a leading newspaper photojournalist. His images have been published and enjoyed by people of all ages throughout the World. Using this trained eye, he is able to visually capture the wedding day with a uniquely natural style.

He documents the true emotions of the day with the flair of a true artist. This allows him the ability to go far beyond the typical posing of the conventional wedding photographer. He has the keen ability to find the special moments and captures them from the sidelines.

His distinguished reputation of remaining unobtrusive and his ability to photograph an event while remaining inconspicuous, allow the real spontaneous candid moments of the day to be recorded journalistically for future generations to enjoy and treasure.

He has been commissioned by many of Boston's top photojournalists and media professionals to photograph their own wedding, along with individual clients that yearn for this new and exhilarating approach. He has appeared as a Photojournalistic Wedding Photography Expert on Boston's WB56 TV morning show. His photographs have been highlighted recently in Style, The Boston Herald, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, Associated Press, Boston Magazine, People Magazine, Time Magazine, Life Magazine, Glamour Magazine, The Knots WeddingPages Magazine and frequent issues of Town and Country.

Mr. Martell's photojournalistic coverage is very exciting and fresh yet with a blend of the essential traditional images every bride and groom desires from their wedding day. If you seek the paramount wedding photography service, unparalleled by any other, this unique natural style could be just what you have been looking for!
